COLOR SHIFT YELLOW (2005).  Acrylic paint on nine 1'X 1'canvases, hung 6" apart.  The canvas in the upper left is the same color as the wall on which it is hung, a pale yellow.  Moving in diagonal rows to the canvas in the lower right, the color progressively deepens.

Over the past two years, Umland has created a number of "Color shift" works, varying the color, the number and size of the canvases, and the arrangement of the canvases.  All include one canvas that is the same color as the wall on which it is hung.
